Aft 20mm Belting Room

This ordnanceman is literally up to his ears in 20mm rounds in one of the Aft 20mm Belting Rooms aboard the USS Enterprise. When this photo was taken in 1966, aviation ordnancemen were responsible for loading the large-caliber rounds onto the belts for the fighter aircraft gatling guns. Nowadays, 20mm rounds for the aircraft cannons and the ship's CWIS system arrive pre-belted, hence the ordnancemen have all the more time on their hands for playing cards and watching movies. I believe this compartment space formerly used as a weapons magazine has since been converted into a new-age meditation chamber*.
