The USS Enterprise is at maximum warp during her Shakedown Cruise in October, 1994. The starboard anchor seen here weighs 32 tons; there is another one identical to it on the port side. In this photo, Enterprise is pushing nearly 100,000 tons of steel through the Atlantic Ocean at well over 35 MPH, faster than most old folks drive their cars.
