The RCOH (Refueling and Complex Overhaul) performed on the Enterprise between 1991 to 1994 extended her service life 25 years. The scope of this tremendous project covered the entire ship fore to aft, and utilized 1.5 million man-hours over a period of 45 months. In addition to refueling her eight nuclear reactors, the aircraft catapults were rebuilt, thousands of miles of wiring and piping were replaced, and 3,500 living and working spaces were refurbished.
And she even got a shiny new coat of paint!
