On Friday December 21st, 2007, the USS Enterprise (CVN-65) returned to her homeport of Norfolk, Virginia, after a six-month deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and other maritime security operations. The ship steamed nearly 50,000 miles throughout the Mediterranean, Persian Gulf, and Arabian Sea, during which time the ship's mess cooks prepared approximately four million meals for the Big E's 5,500 sailors and marines. Port calls included Cannes, France, and Jebel Ali, United Arab Emirates.
