The ordies' job is to get the weapons safely loaded onto the aircraft. From there it's up to the flyboys to achieve on-time on-target delivery, which invariably happens far over the horizon. Occasionally, however, we did get to see the end results of our work. Ordies and airdales stand by as two tons of bombs explode on the ocean's surface. First we saw them splash and flash, and then we heard them bang like big firecrackers, and then we FELT them as a strong wave of hot air ungracefully pushed everything back a few inches.
