Big E's IslandThe flight deck on the port side of the island is a popular parking place for helicopter pilots. They don't have nearly as far to walk to get back inside the ship. The glass-enclosed structure to the left of the 65 is the video room, which monitors flight deck activity 24 hours a day. During flight ops, the island videos are used in conjunction with other onboard cameras to record each and every launch and recovery.
