You will notice a gap of several weeks in the guestbook entries between October 17th and November 9th, 2001.
At the request of the Command Master Chief of the USS Enterprise, I took the guestbook down as a preventive security measure. Because of the numerous names, hometowns, and e-mail addresses of the many visitors of this site, we choose to take the guestbook offline while the ship was conducting operations in the Persian Sea. The guestbook came back online a few weeks later when the Enterprise safely returned to her homeport of Norfolk, VA.
In place of the guestbook, I posted this page...

Along with a nice little graphic...
If you will recall during that time, the Enterprise (and many other military units) were featured on the evening news, in the papers, and on the news sites on a daily basis, but no servicemember's names or faces were used or revealed by the journalists.
